Thanksgiving 2012

I had PLANNED on writing a “Happy Thanksgiving” post this year on the actual date of Thanksgiving, however given our quick return from California that Monday and then getting ready for guests for the holiday, I didn’t get around to it. Soooo…

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

I hope it was spent with your friends and family enjoying delicious turkey, tons of sides dishes, and of course nothing but the best deserts. 🙂

We had our annual Thanksgiving with my family as well as Eric’s followed by Black Friday shopping right afterwards since all the deals started so early this year.

I took pictures of the table prior to removal for eating purposes and to avoid stains.

This year, I had a few more fall items thanks to Eric’s trips to local yard sales.

This pumpkin, although ordinary, is one of my favorite yard sale finds.

I used a bell jar that I received as a bridal shower gift to display fresh pumpkins purchased at the grocery store.

I went all out in orange this year for fall. This was in part due to my Sferra Festival napkins that I received from a Sferra representative. After they read my post raving about their Celeste Sheets, they were so gracious as to contact me and send me these lovely napkins. I adore them and plan on purchasing more in the future. You can choose from 101 colors! I’ve already got my eye on a plum color that is to die for.

This year, we displayed the food a little differently. Last year, we used the buffet behind the table. But given the space of the room, that can get a little crowded. This year, Eric purchased a football field themed beer pong table for his football parties. We found a tablecloth that fit last minute and we used the beer pong table for the food. It could not have worked more perfectly.

I expect that we will use this table for our Christmas party as well coming up soon. In fact… I don’t even think we have ever played beer pong on that table.

All in all, it was a delicious and enjoyable Thanksgiving. I always enjoy being around family and love it even more when you get two families together. I am blessed that our families get along so well. Couldn’t have asked for a better match!

How did you spend your Thanksgiving?
